Feel like you want someone to take a look inside your head and flick a switch to turn off all the riding what ifs, worries and anxieties? I hear you! And you know what… it’s possible.

Not in a weird way (I mean, there’s no actual reaching and switch flicking going on that would be weird) but in a way that allows us to work together to map out what you would like those thoughts to look like instead (hello self-confidence and mojo, we missed you!) and be in charge of the outcomes every step of the way.

The thing is, those incessant thoughts that we have? You know the ones. Those annoying thoughts that lead to those frustrating behaviours that leave you stewing in a pool of no confidence, or at the mercy of the Itty Bitty Shitty Committee (those pesky critical voices inside your head), or wallowing around in self-doubt?

You know, the ones that seem to prevent you riding with your head on straight at competitions, or taking that lesson or clinic (despite really, really wanting to), or just generally feeling blah about your riding? Yep, those right there are driven by your unconscious mind (the one behind most of our habits and behaviours).

And how do we do that? Well, that’s where my expertise comes in.

I purchased Jane’s hypnosis audio because I have been helped so much by her teaching and because I know of others that have been helped by hypnosis in general in order to deal with behavioral changes and even management of pain. I desperately wanted to rebuild my confidence that I lost for a number of reasons. I really felt that fear and lack of confidence was limiting me in nearly every area of my life. In just a few weeks, I feel like the audio has become a strong part of my program to break out of patterns of thinking that were not serving me in my work, my family life, my relationships with my horses and even my spiritual life.

Hypnosis is one of the most effective ways for us to create change at an unconscious level. I know this because I’ve studied it in detail, am a US board approved Master Hypnotherapist AND have seen the amazing effective results that it has for my clients.

Believe me, this is not some fluffy stuff or stage trickery. You will not end up clucking like a chicken on command. Hypnosis is a proven and valid sports psychology tool that can be incredibly powerful for your development as a confident and effective rider.

So what exactly is hypnosis?

A simple way of thinking about it is to compare the mind to a computer- if you’re running old programs, your performance is going to be affected. Simple equation.

Hypnosis is like installing a computer update- you get to decide what programs you want to run and and which apps are going to be on your home screen. In other words, what thoughts, stories and beliefs you want to be at the forefront guiding you.

If it sounds like magic, it’s really not. There’s some solid evidence behind the use of hypnosis as a therapy and the American Medical Association has approved it as a therapeutic tool since 1958. All we’re doing is looking at the current state of play (I mean, it’s good to get super clear on how you don’t want to feel, right?) and juxtaposing that with how you’d like things to be so we can formulate some suggestions – that’s hypno speak for the words and phrases we’ll use during the session – that will create the results and outcomes that you’re looking for.

I can highly recommend hypnosis for working through challenging times. If you don’t have access to Jane or another practitioner on a regular basis, the audio made by Jane is wonderful.

Jane does understand the human psyche quite well and her problem solving skills are amazing. She works with the details you give in advance and is able to turn it into a tool to help you through tricky situations. It is about 30 minutes and the way it is set up you can use it any time of the day and because it is specific yet broad enough I find it can be used in different situations. I use it when I doubt myself and my competence or skills and it gives me a fresh outlook and renewed resolve to forge ahead.

Ok, but how will it work for me?

When you’re in a fully alert state, your conscious mind is really leading the show. The reason that it’s so hard to really take on (like, really get) all of the good stuff that’s possible for you is because for the most part, your conscious mind is running around like it’s in a Boxercise class – deflecting, blocking and right-hooking all those productive thoughts and possibilities in an effort to keep you right there where you are now, thanks very much. Your conscious mind has a positive intention – it wants to keep you safe – but if we really want to step into the mode of making things happen and out of ground hog day mode, then we are going to have to change things up.

This is where we have to go stealth.

In order to be able to effect change at an unconscious level, we have to get past all of that conscious mind chatter that gets in our way in the day to day. In order to do this, we make sure you’re in a pretty relaxed state (in technical terms, we would say the alpha state) and then we would start with the fun stuff – updating your mental software with all the suggestions about how it is you actually want things to be.

In essence, all you have to do is sit back, relax and I’ll take you through the process. Based on our discussions together, I will make a bespoke, 30 minute hypnosis audio that you can use on a daily basis to get the results you are looking for.

I’ve been a member in JoyRide for just about a year and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results I’ve experienced. By using all of Jane’s tools, the modules, the support from the Facebook Group and one of her custom developed audios just for me, I am overcoming a very significant anxiety problem. How do we make this happen?

Step One: You hit the sign up button and I send you through a detailed questionnaire that fills me in on your current state of play. This is the prep work to make sure that we get the most of our time together when we talk.

Step Two: We make a time to have a single, 60 minute 1:1 session together. This is fine tuning time. Here, we will get into the nitty gritty of what results you are looking for in your riding and from your audio. Remember, this is tailor made for you so extra care is taken to make sure we are bang on the money.

Step Three: I go off and make your 30 minute, tailored-to-you hypnosis audio.
